CHA Youth Advisory Council (YAC)

About the YAC

The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) comprises of 11th and 12th grade students from various high schools in Cabarrus County and Kannapolis City school systems. YAC focuses on youth-civic engagement activities and provides an avenue for youth to amplify their voices for effective community change. YAC provides peer support, leadership skills, and participation in community activities. The YAC helps youth organize and supervise programs for the benefit of area youth and the community and serve as an advisory committee on youth affairs to local leaders.

Qualifications 

  • 11th and 12th graders who are currently enrolled in either Kannapolis City Schools or Cabarrus County Schools 
  • Ability to attend at least 80% of the scheduled meetings per semester 
  • If you have checked yes to both qualifications, follow the link and fill out the application! Applications are open until April 1st 

Membership:

YAC is a membership-based, and students join through a yearly application process

Meeting Information

Meetings will be held at Cabarrus Health Alliance, 300 Mooresville Road unless otherwise noted in the newsletter or text your child receives!
