Strengthening Families Program

Strengthening Families is a FREE and FUN 14-week, family-focused, skill building program provided to families with (at least one) youth between the ages of 6 and 11 years old. If families also have children under 6 or over 11 years old, FREE childcare is provided each week. This program is designed to celebrate ALL families, family togetherness, and family supports.

Importance of the Program

Strengthening Families improves family functioning by building upon the relationships of parents/guardians and youth as well as offers additional tools to improve effective communication and boundary setting. This evidence-based program has shown to lower rates of risky and/or oppositional behavior among youth as well as shown improvement in peer resistance skills and academic achievement.

Dinner is provided to families (free of charge) from 5:30 p.m. until 6 p.m., and then parents and youth break off into separate sessions for an hour.
