WHAT IT IS: This program provides education, counseling, and testing.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this program is to provide education, counseling, testing and referral for sickle cell trait, sickle cell disease, and other hemoglobinopathies.

WHO MAY RECEIVE THIS SERVICE: Any person at risk for the problem may request the service.

HOW THIS PROGRAM IS CARRIED OUT: By appointment at the Kannapolis site.

HOW THE COMMUNITY BENEFITS: The Sickle Cell Program helps to assure that individuals with sickle cell trait or disease have access to medical care and education about their condition.
