Building A Better Cabarrus County
Healthy
Cabarrus
is a community health initiative with the mission of uniting and
mobilizing community partners to identify and address health needs.
More than thirty-five community partners comprise the advisory board
and more than seventy-five partners participate in the collaborative
work of the partnership.
Healthy Cabarrus
is a Certified Healthy Carolinians
partnership, certified by the North Carolina Governor’s Task Force for
Healthy Carolinians. The partnership was established in 1998 through
joint efforts of CMC-NorthEast and Cabarrus Health Alliance.
Funding
sources include: Cabarrus Health Alliance, CMC-NorthEast, the Statewide
Health Promotion Program, the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, the NC
Legislature, and other grant funds/donations.

Healthy Cabarrus News! Healthy Carolinians Recertification Healthy Cabarrus has submitted our 2009 Healthy Carolinians recertification application. We would like to Thank everyone who sent a letter of support to be included in the application. ________________________ Childhood Obesity Prevention Partnership For 2008-2009, Cabarrus Health Alliance received one of five $380,000 grants awarded by the NC Division of Public Health. This grant will support implementation of recommended strategies to reduce the rates of childhood overweight and obesity. Through this, the Childhood Obesity Prevention Partnership was created.
