Forty-six business processes have been analyzed and redesigned for the following areas in the public health department that would be affected by a new EMR/Practice Management information system - Billing, Child Health, Child Services Coordination/Maternal Care Coordination, Communicable Disease, Family Planning, Intensive Home Visiting, Lab, Maternal Health, and Registration/Checkout.

This chart lists each business process and what components have been completed (Business Process Matrix, Context Diagram, and/or Task Flow Diagram). [Click here]

The chart also shows which business processes have forms that are currently used in the business process. All of the forms have been scanned and assigned reference numbers and are include within each workgroup section. Task flow diagrams that have forms currently associated with a task reference the form number.

The following are the documents developed for the business processes:

  • Business Process Matrix – Includes information for all of the business processes.

  • Context Diagrams, Task Flow Diagrams and Forms by Workgroup

  • Click here to download all documents listed above and associated with the BPA/BPR phase.

Each business process has its own context diagram and task flow diagram; a Visio format version (.vsd) to make changes to fit your organization and a PDF format version.

Most of the Billing, Child Health, Family Planning, and Registration/Checkout business processes have multiple versions of the task flow diagrams since work was done in these areas by both projects. The following are the various task flow diagrams that could be found:
    • BPA task flow diagram with forms (if applicable)
    • BPR task flow diagram with forms (if applicable)
    • BPR task flow diagram with HIS menu paths
    • BPR task flow diagram with no forms

All Clinics, CSCS/MCC, CD, IHV, Lab, and Maternal Health have only two versions of the task flow diagrams – one with forms and one without forms.
